How to set a unique new notification tone for a WhatsApp new contacts and groups?

1.Open "WhatsApp" on your phone.


2.Go to the "Contacts" tab, and select the contact for whom you want to set the new ringtone.

3.Tap the "3-dots icon", and select "View Contact" in the expanded menu.

4.Select "Custom notifications"

  • Open WhatsApp and Tap on the conversation of the group for which you want to change the ringtone.
  • On conversation screen, tap on the "Group Name" on top of the screen. This will open up Group Information.

  • Under Custom Notifications, tap on the "Message Sound" and select a new message alert sound for that group.
  • Tap on "Save" at the top right corner after selecting the desired message tone.

Similarly, to set a custom ringtone for individual contacts select the contact or individual chat instead of the group for which you want to set a different ringtone. The rest of the procedure is the same as groups mentioned above.
